Worship

“God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 4:24 NRSV

offering, worship, prayer

What will happen during a typical worship service?

Our typical Sunday morning worship will include a greeting and quick announcements with time to recognize birthdays and anniversaries, scripture reading, an offering,  the sermon, and a few hymns. Prayer is an important part of our time together and we include an opening prayer or greeting, a pastoral prayer, the Lord’s Prayer, a prayer over the offering, and a closing prayer.

We sing traditional hymns from the United Methodist Hymnal and a secondary hymnal, the Faith We Sing.

Communion is served the first Sunday of the month. All are invited to celebrate communion, but you can choose whether or not you wish to participate. Learn more about communion.

We print words and responses in the bulletins to help those who are unfamiliar with United Methodist services.

Services begin at 11 am. Children are invited to hear a short message at the front of church and then our youngest members (4 and under) are invited to play in the nursery during the remainder of service.

Additionally, we worship together through weekly Sunday School classes, Bible studies, and monthly potluck meals. Sunday School meets at 10 am and Bible study meets at 6 pm.
